Lynas Rare Earths
The Mt Weld mine in central Western Australia is one of the highest-grade rare earth deposits in the world. The deposits sit in a two billion-year-old volcanic plug, of which 1.8km has been weathered to form a high grade supergene Rare Earth Oxide. Lynas Rare Earth’s $575m processing facility is located in Kalgoorlie and processes the rare earth from Mt Weld to produce high-quality rare earth materials. These materials are then exported to manufacturing markets in Asia, Europe, and the USA.
